INTONAL 2023: Acousmatic Concerts & Screenings at IAC
27 to 30 April 2023
The collaboration between INTONAL and IAC continues also in 2023 with a further dive into the acousmonium practice, this time featuring both new and historical productions of acousmatic music.
A great part of this year’s acousmonium program will consist of a series of events entitled “PARMEGIANI 10 YEARS”. A number of performers have been asked to present their spatial interpretation of the works by the great French composer Bernard Parmegiani, who passed away in 2013. Another great figure of contemporary music, Éliane Radigue, will be celebrated on Saturday night with a spatialization of her immersive piece “L’île re-sonante”, in the frame of a collaboration with the Division of Musicology at Lunds University. The Sound Environment Centre – Lund University is also collaborating, joining science and music for a concert entitled “Concepts of:”.
On top of the performances and two artist talks, this year’s program also includes three documentary screenings: “The window of dreams”, about Parmegiani and the developments of Musique Concrete between analog and digital; the renowned “Sisters with transistors”, an overview of the most prominent female pioneers of electronic music, and “Echos”, a sensitive portrait of Éliane Radigue based on intimacy and friendship.
