OPEN CALL – Actors & Students | Between Voices and Bodies
Would you like to explore language, voice, and body in an artistic project? We are looking for both professional actors and acting students to participate in the artistic research project "Between Voices and Bodies".
The project is aimed at those who are curious about how language carries memory, emotions, and identity – and who want to explore their own languages and forms of expression through voice, movement, listening, and sound.
About the project
Between Voices and Bodies is an artistic research project in which participants’ voices are at the center. Through creative workshops, we explore language as both a bodily and artistic material. The material created will become part of a multilingual sound work composed entirely of the participants’ voices.
The project is led by:
Sima Nurali Wolgast (Associate Professor of Psychology and artistic researcher)
Vanja Hamidi Isacson (playwright and artistic researcher)
What does participation involve?
You will take part in three workshops (4 hours each) in Malmö at Inter Arts Center.
Periods:
6–12 April OR 11–24 May
Exact dates and times will be decided in dialogue with participants. Workshops will take place in the evenings and/or on weekends.
During the workshops, we will work with:
- Language portraits – drawing body silhouettes and filling them with languages, dialects, and expressions
- Language and movement exercises
- Voice recordings that may become part of the collective sound work
- Reflection and documentation of the process
Who can apply?
We are looking for you who are a professional actor or an acting student, and who are interested in artistic processes, voice, and language.
