Bodies Commodities Playtime! Edition (2024)
Interactive multichannel Audio-Visual Installation
Within the digital media ecosystem, we find ourselves both exploited and compelled to exploit one another. We are ensnared within a system over which we have limited control, and this system is evolving rapidly. There are numerous important critical aspects to address here. Who bears responsibility, and does their identity as responsible parties matter? Discussing these issues at an abstract level is valuable as it fosters inclusivity by allowing us to more readily adapt these concepts to our individual experiences.
The very notion of exploitation, for instance, is intriguing. Can we characterize exploitation as an act of violence against individuals when considering how our digital personal information is handled?
"Bodies Commodities Playtime! Edition" is on exploitation, violence, and power imbalances in a world run by raging post-capitalism, and our own agency in this.
