INTONAL 2021: Acousmatic concerts at IAC
18 to 20 June 2021
The acousmonium is back and ready to diffuse a selection of brand new electronic and acousmatic pieces as well as some classics. It is now 10 years since the acousmonium was first set up at Inter Arts Center. The world was very different then. Nevertheless we continue to renew the collaboration between Inkonst, IAC and SOUND SPACES to present a window on the current status of acousmatic music in Europe.
The acousmatic concerts at IAC kicks off on Friday with two concerts by Francesco Del Nero and Alessandro Perini, also curators of the SOUND SPACES Festival together with Jonatan Sersam. We continue with the Danish trio consisting of Lola Ajima, Ingvild Skandsen and Lasse Munk, all co-founders of the “XYZ Sound Collective”, who all work in different ways on the acousmonium. They have been selected for the MAKE SOUND residency at Inter Arts Center and are now invited to present their final output in the form of a concert within INTONAL.
Last but not least, two international guests will close the acousmatic programme on Sunday: Paolo Pastorino from Italy and Sophie Delafontaine from Switzerland, both presenting mixed programmes including their own music as well as pieces by fellow composers and masters of the acousmatic art.
The acousmatic programme is curated by composer and artist Alessandro Perini.

INTONAL is an annual festival for experimental and electronic music that has been held in Malmö, Sweden since 2015. The focus of the festival is to offer an international programme of experimental and electronic music covering a wide range of genres, subgenres and unique expressions. Besides established artists within the electronic avant garde and acts bordering towards sound art, a hefty club oriented programme will also present DJs acting within an innovative new scene for dance music. Parallel to this there is also a number of installation exhibitions and artist talks. Out of tradition, a handful of events on the programme will be open to the public and free of entrance.
