There is a deep fascination in recording and manipulating soundscapes. When listening through headphones, an entire sonic world reveals itself – the more attentively we listen, the more nuances emerge and the deeper we want to explore it. These works research the potentials of incidental sounds – expanded, magnified and processed, the daily soundscapes are morphed into new possible sonic worlds. While new layers of fiction are added, the original recording remains present, serving as a compass for a journey of the mind.

Fabio Monni's artistic practice focuses on found objects as sound sources and how these can be integrated together with electronics within instrumental performances. He has a particular fascination with architectural spaces and their acoustic properties, frequently exploring the spatialisation of sound throughout space. His work as a musician exists in parallel with his professional career as a graphic illustrator and his position as a church musician in Lund, creating a multifaceted artistic identity.
