The Politics of Rhythm
an experimental research lab
3 January 2019 - 17 January 2019

The Politics of Rhythm is a 4-week intensive and hands-on research lab which takes experimental approaches to rhythm as it’s central point of exploration.

Led by composer/percussionist Greta Eacott, the lab will facilitate the development of installation and performance works that explore, deconstruct and look to expand on current ways of understanding and working with rhythm and rhythmic systems.

The lab will take a sans-disciplinary approach, starting by exploring composition that incorporates movement and installation works – and in the process also seeking to highlight ways in which the study of rhythm might be related to broader ways of seeing and understanding.

The Make Sound Residency will culminate in a public event on 24th March at the Inter Arts Center. Details to be announced.
