Phantom Feed
19 September 2016 - 29 September 2016

This is an exploration of absence in a way. To build a body with two parts and then remove one to reveal whether each can stand on their own. The removed part will never be available to the audience, so they will have to make up in their own minds what would couple with this piece to make it whole. Or is it already a whole? This illusory exercise is meant to offer an idea, but not to layout a definitive. This can serve as each individual’s own Exquisite Corpse of sorts.

This concept was born out of a current collaboration with artist Andrea Belfi. As we are meant to each contribute an idea to a single narrative, a dialogue. One part exists already as the phantom, and one will be created for and premiered at the IAC.
