How does light shape space, guide attention, and transform the way we experience art? Here are three short teasers for the upcoming MOOC course “Light, Lighting, and People,” which will be available online in the fall of 2026.

IAC has collaborated with LTH, the Faculty of Science, and the Faculty of Social Sciences to develop the MOOC course “Light, Lighting, and Humans.”

The course will cover topics such as how light shapes spaces, atmospheres, and audience experiences, as well as the relationship between artistic intention and technical practice. The IAC has contributed perspectives on lighting in the performing arts and visual arts, based on experiences from the Malmö Theatre Academy.

The video material is produced by EduLab in collaboration with the university's production team and the IAC.

Participants include Mathias Kristersson (Malmö Art Academy), Thomas Dotzler, and Jörgen Dahlqvist (Malmö Theatre Academy).

Frank Schreier, producer (EduLab), Johan Nyman & Catrin Jakobsson, producer and filmmaker (Corporate Communication).

MOOC courses are online courses at Lund University that are open to anyone interested, regardless of prior knowledge. The courses are completely digital and start on an ongoing basis. “Light, Lighting and Humans” will start in the fall of 2026.
