In her video installation ‘The Tactilist’ (produced at IAC in collaboration with masseur Daniel Wade) and the self published printed matter ‘At this late hour’ – Otto departs from F.T Marinetti’s manifesto “Tactilism”, written in 1921. Marinetti’s double as both poet and fascist is elaborated on through notions of intimacy, cleanliness, violence
and formalism; using the futurist ideology as an example of how language and poetry harbor abilities to constrain or control, while also being a ‘potential’ in itself; an escape.
