Människor slukar allt de älskar – till Pier Paolo Pasolinis pojkar och till deras mamma
Annika Nyman, Isak Sundström, K.Polyfon
Location: Red Room

‘People devour everything they love – for Pier Paolo Pasolini’s boys and their mother’. Written by Annika Nyman, PhD student, Malmö Theatre Academy.

The mother and son are reunited after a lost childhood. The future looms like condensed light. Then the past begins to worm its way into the present. The artist collective K.Polyfon and composer Isak Sundström create a work for two actors and a musician full of tenderness, tragedy and black comedy.

The actors Rasmus Luthander and Anna K. Wallander, together with the musician Isak Sundström, stage a fairy tale from folk culture. In a world where harsh material conditions prevail, love, individualism, care and manual labour are negotiated. The gaze falls on Pasolini’s ‘Mamma Roma’ (1962), while the roots of the work go back to an ancient myth of the mother who gives birth to and devours her children.
