KHM x MMM is a series of lectures and artist talks created in collaboration between Malmö Art Academy and Moderna Museet Malmö.

SIDSEL MEINECHE HANSEN – PHARMACOPORNOGRAPHER

Sidsel Meineche Hansen’s talk will focus on the female avatar ‘EVA v3.0’ which is a product sold online by TurboSquid, a company that supplies stock 3D models for computer games and virtual adult entertainment globally. The EVA v3.0 avatar is the protagonist of the following Computer Generated Animmation and Virtual Reality productions by Meineche Hansen, such as: Seroquel® (2014); No right way 2 cum (2015) and DICKGIRL 3D(X) (2016) – and the focus of some of the artist’s research on post-human sex within pharmaceutical, porn and tech-industries. As part of the presentation, Sidsel Meineche Hansen will screen and discuss some of the video works in the context of Paul B Preciado’s concept of the ‘pharmacopornographic‘ model of society.

Sidsel Meineche Hansen lives and works in London. Her work takes the form of sculpture, drawing, woodcut prints, documentary video as well as CGI animations in VR. Selected solo exhibitions include: Inner Child, Bergen Kunsthalle (2021); Welcome to End—used City, Chisenhale Gallery, London; An Artists Guide to Stop Being an Artist, SMK – The National Gallery of Denmark (2019); Real Doll Theatre, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin; End-user, Kunsthal Århus, Denmark; OVER, Index Stockholm, Sweden (2018); OVER, Ludlow 38, New York City (2017); No Right Way 2 Cum, Transmission Gallery, Glasgow; SECOND SEX WAR, Gasworks, London (both 2016); ONE-self, Temporary Gallery & Kunstler House Bremen, Germany (2015); and INSIDER, CUBITT, London (2014).
