As in the previous years, the programme of this concert is built around the SOUND SPACES festival call for music which, in line with the concept of the festival, aims to open a window on compositional practice all around the world. The call is launched every year by the Hertzbreakerz (a collective of three composers based in Malmö which Francesco, along with Alessandro Perini and Jonatam Sersam, is part of) and this year they received an incredible amount of 164 pieces.
Among these applications Francesco selected three pieces which form the core of the program to be performed through the Acousmonium (a system based on around 30 speakers placed all around the audience). The winners of the call are Marta Domingues from Portugal, Daniel Mayer from Austria and Jung Hyun Lee from South Korea with their pieces “Istantes”, “Matters 8” and “Openings”.
