This workshop focuses on the action of draining the body from vocabulary and sound. Through somatic exercises the participants will be invited into Brewer & Blennow’s current research and artistic practice.

The workshop will be practical, score based and for own exploration. Some of the ingredients are: listening, sounding, moving, drawing and talking. Please bring clothes that you are comfortable to move in.

The work and research originate from the broad question of what a sounding body is and can be. Brewer & Blennow wish to establish a platform where discussions and experiments can take place across different artistic disciplines.

The workshop runs for 2,5 hours, followed by a common putlock for those who wish to stay for a common meal and conversation.

This workshop is the first one, followed by two more during the spring. You can attend one, two or all of them. Just make sure to sign up. Workshop #2 is scheduled for March 29, and workshop #3 for May 31, but stay tuned as things might move around…

Brewer & Blennow is an artistic duo based in Malmö, who started to collaborate in 2018 during the research project Sounding Bodies, initiated and led by Jenny Gräf Sheppard at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, in Copenhagen. Brewer & Blennow have been in residency at Inkonst, Uferstudios in Berlin and now at IAC.
